The EnergyAgency.NRW was created at the beginning of the year as a result of merging the NRW State Initiative on Future Energies and the NRW Energy Agency. Its first presentation at a trade fair will be in Essen: At the "E-world energy & water" from 6 - 8 February 2007, this new institution will highlight the varied and broad range of the subject areas it covers. From energy efficiency, facility management, driving with biogenic fuels and the instruments of emission trading to modern power plant technologies. About 20 companies and scientific institutions will present the full diversity of NRW"s energy industry on the 400 square-metre joint NRW stand in Hall 3, Stand 3-166.
The Netherlands is this year"s partner of the "E-world".

The NRW stand focuses solar-thermal power plants, biogenic fuels, energy-efficient and solar construction, modern power plant technology and hydroelectric power. The NRW Competence Networks Power Plant Technology, Fuels of the Future, and Fuel Cell and Hydrogen will be presenting their activities. The project "50 Solar Housing Estates in NRW" will provide information on the use of solar energy to supply heat and power to buildings on an estate level. Numerous regional research institutions and universities will present future oriented research and development projects. The highlights include the engine for regenerative fuels from BioNet Steinfurt GmbH and the heat exchanger model from Wallstein Ingenieur GmbH in Recklinghausen as well as the low-energy and innovative LED lamps developed by Zweibrüder Optoelectronics GmbH in Solingen. The EnergyAgency.NRW will also welcome the fair visitors in Hall 1. Here, together with the heat supply association and a number of contracting suppliers there will be another joint stand - the NRW Contracting Point.
11th Expert Conference on Future Energies on Tuesday, 6 February
The 11th Expert Conference on Future Energies will be held as the "E-world´s" first conference on 6 February from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The agenda includes an opening address by Christa Thoben, the North Rhine-Westphalian Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy, as well as specialist presentations on the energy industry in the Netherlands and on climate change. After the lectures, there will be three expert forums in the afternoon: on the subjects of biogenic fuels, energy efficient and solar construction, and solar-thermal power plant.
In order to "recharge the batteries", the NRW Evening, a special event, will be offered on Tuesday, 6 February starting at 6 p.m. on the joint NRW stand in Hall 3.
All fair visitors are cordially invited to get together there.
NRW Expert Conference on Power Plant Technology from 6 to 8 February:
High-ranking Expert Conference on the Power Plant Technology of the Future
Wherever one turns, the debate on climate protection and supply reliability is in full swing. In view of the increase of the worldwide energy consumption combined with increasingly scarce resources and rising fuel prices, it has become an urgent issue. Being entitled "Energy Supply in Europe?", the Power Plant Conference will tackle various questions: What will the status of coal be in a balanced energy mix of the future? How will the general acceptance be in the public look like? What parameters foster the construction of new power plants? What is the significance of emission trading?
Experts from energy supply utilities and power plant construction companies, from the domains of industry, science and environmental protection will give answers to these questions at the "NRW Expert Conference on Power Plant Technology" from 6 to 8 February 2007 in Essen. The Expert Conference is being held within the framework of the "E-world" energy fair and is organised by E-world energy & water GmbH and the NRW Power Plant Technology Competence Network.
